Abu Ali Sina Organ Transplant Hospital in Shiraz

Abu Ali Sina Hospital in Iran, located in Sadra City, a medical hub 15 km northwest of Shiraz, is the largest full-service organ transplant center in Iran. It is also the best-equipped specialized center for organ transplants in the Middle East. It was established in 2017 in response to handling the increasing number of patients with organ transplantation needs such as liver transplant, partial transplantation, kidney transplant, pancreas transplantation, heart, colon, and multi-visceral transplantations. The organs are taken from both alive and deceased or brain-dead donors (with consent from their families) for transplant surgeries.

Abu Ali Sina Organ Transplantation Center is a charity research, educational, and healthcare facility. It was established by a group of benevolent members of the Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and some charity men.

Organ transplantation was started first in Namazi Hospital in Shiraz and developed then into the Shiraz Organ Transplantation Center of Abu Ali Sina Hospital due to growing demand from both Iranians and patients from other countries.

Abu Ali Sina complex, which is still under construction, is covering an 80 thousand square meter area. It embraces 9 floors and 600 beds for the transplant hospital, 80 beds with daily admission of 240 dialysis patients for the hemodialysis center, and 1000 beds for the cancer sub-specialized hospital. The complex also includes the educational medical center, dental, pharmacy, and nursing schools with dormitories, sports hall, and residential parts.

The organ transplant center is globally known thanks to the long list of prominent physicians and proficient staff as well as the amazing success rate of the most difficult transplants. It also hosts top physicians from other countries for cooperation and educates sub-specialized fellowships from the Middle East and also African countries in organ transplant and anesthesia fields.
